Whew, time to catch my breath finally!

So we have two more shoots with Coleman next week and then I think we’re officially done for the season. That’s totally a bummer since I love shooting with Christina, Mark and Brooks but now I have some time to focus on fun shoots for me. I’ve started looking into some new opportunities and I have a bunch of auditions this week and a few shoots lined up.

I shot with a great photographer Bambi Dingman on Friday. It was a conceptual shot for a Matchbox 20 photographer contest. Me and another model, Tony, Schluck, portrayed the baggage that couples bring into relationships and the love that bonds them together through it all. It was really fun and I’m excited to see the outcome since I’ve loved Bambi’s work for a while now.

I have a producer job lined up for a video with a company in Greeley to portray their videography abilities and my producer abilities. We’re going to shoot a bunch of footage demonstrating what they can do on a smaller budget and in time constraints and then produce a longer and more in depth video showing what they can do with a larger budget and more time. We’ll be using a very simple concept and demonstrating the different directions we can go depending on a client’s budget and needs. I’ll also be the actress in the video. I think it sounds like a good time to work with some new people and hopefully form a collaboration that will benefit all of us as we move forward. I’ll post the video when we’ve completed it but it’s a few weeks out still.

Other than that I have the two shoots next week for Coleman and a bunch of auditions. Wish me luck!  I’m looking forward to focusing on the acting/modeling side for the next few months and seeing what new opportunities come my way.

October 9th, 2012

Wow, what a whirlwind since June. I’ve barely had time to write anything but now that Coleman is wrapping up for a couple of months, I’m sure I’ll be better.  Unless I don’t have anything to write because I’m not doing anything. Nah, that won’t happen. 🙂

So, since I wrote last I’ve done probably 15 shoots with Coleman where I managed the casting, catering, some wardrobe and some location scouting. Through the entire process I made some great friends and formed some wonderful bonds. I’m sad it’s over for the time being but I look forward to when we start up again next year. Picture below is a typical demonstration of the lengths we had to go to, to get cell phone reception. We shot in some seriously bad-ass, out of the way locations. It was awesome. So cool.

In the meantime I am moving my producing skills to corporate team building activities.

I did my first corporate team building activity today where I was the facilitator and ran the show. Pretty much everything that could have gone wrong did. Luckily it was nothing I could control. And I’m happy to say I managed the problems and we made the best of it to the point I don’t think the client even knew. Our bike build for charity could have come to a screeching halt when I found out this morning that our bikes never shipped out. I ended up at Walmart buying $1,000 of kids bikes and jamming them all into my car and carting them over to the client. When the ipads stopped working during the trivia portion of the build, we managed to fake it. When all the bikes turned out to be girls’ bikes, we played that off. Even when we finished the bike build an hour before schedule, we filled the time with team building games and activities. It was horrifying, quite honestly, but it was fun and gave me confidence that I can handle this. That was worth the trouble and stress I went through to get through today. That part alone was worth it all.

Now is the time to start doing some fun shoots again. It’s been a lot of work lately and less play so I’m taking some time to travel a bit and then I’ll be starting some fun collaborations again. So that means new pictures in my port at some point. Yay!

Week of September 11th

I’m such a slacker.

Coleman has been keeping me busy, not to mention the other fun stuff that’s been going on. Last week was the Circle K golf tournament and Alex Dean and I were the official MC’s to the auction. Loosely translated that means we walked around and talked to people while occasionally yelling out things about auction items or who’s outbidding who. The next day we drove around in a golf cart and tried to interview people on a little camcorder that had five minutes of battery life on it. I’m not sure how well that went but we did our best. The rest of the trip went smoothly and overall it seemed to be a success. Alex and I had a great time, I hope the Circle K people did as well.

Also, here is a link to the commercial I referenced in my last blog posting. It was for the Fort Collin’s Film Festival as a thank you to the sponsors.

Finally, below are a couple of pictures from my shoot with Louis Bednar. He’s a great photographer and so much fun to work with. He does a lot of work with triathletes and the Ironman community.

Week of September 3rd, 2012

Sorry, it’s been a while since I updated this. Last week was crazy busy and I just didn’t have the time or energy to update but tonight I can’t sleep so let’s see what comes out.

I had 4 shoots with Coleman last week that I was doing production management for, as well as some modeling. We had a ton of kids in the shoots. It was great, but definitely added a different element to the shoots. Juice boxes, Gogurts and cheese sticks became my best friend. It was pretty cool actually. They all did great and we had a fun time.

I shot another set of MetroBrokers TV spots. It’s in an interview format and we do one take so it can be a little nerve wracking when I keep messing up the person’s name. 🙂 It’s a lot of fun, though.

I also shot a music video on Sunday evening. This was probably one of the strangest and most fun acting jobs I’ve done. It was shot at a mexican night club, which I have never been to. I got there at 6 PM and the place was packed, I couldn’t even find parking. Everyone was dressed to the hilt (not sure that’s an expression, might be dressed to the hill…? Not sure, neither really make sense but I’m going with it). So the song was La Guerita Panchangera, which loosely translates to blond party girl. Ok, so it’s fitting. I know. The song is the story of a girl who likes to party at mexican clubs so the whole time I’m dancing. Like really dancing. In heels. AND I DIDN”T FALL DOWN. Not even once. Which is truly a miracle if you’ve seen me walk in heels (Mark, if you’re reading this stop laughing). So there I am dancing with various men, on stage, with my friends, etc. The thing was the club was really in full force and we were filming around it. It was hilarious. I got thrown on stage with the band and danced with them as they performed for the crowd. Thank god I’m not shy, right?  I’m going to put some behind the scene pictures up so check them out. Seriously, so much fun.

This week I’m headed to Dallas for the Circle K golf tournament. I did it last year as well but this year I’m MC’ing the auction  as well. I’ve never MC’ed an auction so we’ll see how this goes. How hard can it be? Really? That hard. Shit. I’ll keep you posted on how this all plays out.

I have a shoot on Friday when I return and then I’m going camping for the weekend so it’s a busy, busy week and I’m sure I’m going to forget something important, like my luggage. So I’m writing little notes to myself all over. My email is filled with kari notes. Totally irrelevant thoughts that have floated into my head like puffs of cotton. I’m sure there’s a way to organize all this but I just haven’t quite figured it out yet. Help.

Now I must go to bed but I swear I’ll put up some pictures soon. I’m still waiting for the fitness ones from Louis and I have a few commercials and videos that should be ready soon. So tired. Night night friends.

Oh yeah, I filmed a commercial last weekend for a film festival so those pictures are below. I’ll give more details later. I’m really sleepy now.

Week of August 26th, 2012

So this week things get nutty. Coleman is shooting up a storm. I guess you could call it a shoot storm. 🙂

We have shoots almost every day this week and then a few a week for the next few weeks. Fun stuff. Although, at our last Boulder Reservoir shoot I got stung by a bee on the back of my thigh. Weird. I had never been stung and I completely get why it’s called being stung. It stung. I know, that sounds pretty obvious but for a girl whose never been stung by a bee, I would expect it to be more like a shot but I think the word stung is a perfect description of what it felt like.

I shot with an awesome photographer last week, Louis Bednar, who’s a triathlete in Boulder. http://louisbphotography.com. We did a fitness shoot (again at the Boulder Reservoir where this time I got 36 mosquito bites but zero bee stings…yay?) and he was great to work with. There were these crazy good female athletes as well that were taking off to do the Ironman in Canada the next day. They were so impressive. I’ll post some pictures once I get them back.

I had a bunch of auditions last week and ended up getting a couple of them, which is always fun. I’m also leaving next week to go to the Circle K golf tournament. I did it last year as well and it was a blast. I love going.

Doing the MetroBrokers TV tomorrow and then starting the week of craziness with Coleman. I’ll be posting some pictures soon. I’ve just been so very tired that I’ve been slacking. Time for bed. More to come.
XOXO

August 12th, 2012

Early morning shoot for Coleman tomorrow but I’m really looking forward to it. It’s going to be for some of their water toys so it should be fun. I have one of my favorite little girls going with me to try her hand at modeling so I’ll have to post some pictures of her. She’s going to do awesome!

Below are some pictures from my Coleman shoot a month or so back when I was a model, rather than only doing the casting. It was with Brooks Freehill as the photographer and he’s awesome.

We’re shooting with him again tomorrow.

August 7th, 2012

I can’t remember what I wrote last but it seems like I had a week or two of relative calm. Let me just say, that is OVER.

Coleman is going nuts and we’re scheduling 2 shoots a week for the next two months so, with that being said, I need models. Coleman is looking for attractive, real, outdoorsy people for their shoots for various products.

Contact me if you’re interested….

Last week I filmed a corporate video for the Western Energy Alliance with Hagar Films. It was a blast and a totally funny spoof on their wildcat awards. After that I took off Thursday and Friday to climb my first 14-er, Mt. Bierdstadt. It was awesome and actually quite a bit harder than I expected it to be. I continued on to Glenwood Springs and then back to Copper Mountain for the Copper Triangle’s 78-mile bike ride. Overall, it was a great weekend.

Monday I had a shoot for MetroBrokers TV. Last week I was hired to do all their real estate interview videos twice a month for MetroBrokers so Monday was my first day. It was really fun, although sort of nerve wracking the very first time. The interviews are one take only with three cameras and the questions are different every time but it’s more or less a four minute conversation on film. Considering I can talk to a tree, it wasn’t too hard once I got the hang of it.

We’re doing another Black and Tan Extravaganz video in the next couple weeks as well as a training video for Win the Hunt. I’m also going to Dallas for the Circle K golf tournament and then with all the Coleman shoots and the real estate shoots, I’m pretty booked up for August and September. I love, LoVe, LOVE it. I have a few other things in the works as well but we’ll see what all pans out.

So anyway, little friends, I have been eating consistently for the past hour and must get off my booty and do some sit ups and then to bed. I’m tuckered out.

Until next time….

Oh yeah, a few pictures below are from my lab coat shoot. Now if that’s not sexy, I don’t know what is.

July 29th, 2012

I’m still trying to attach my Black and Tan Extravaganz videos so they pop up so here’s another attempt. I filmed the pot/Visine commercial today as well, which was quite funny and I’ll be able to put that up here soon. I’m also in the process of getting the newest Circle K commercial so I’ll post that soon as well. Yay.

Below is a picture from the pin up shoot that I took myself. Still haven’t gotten any pictures back from Mark, he’s been super busy so here’s this dorky one in the meantime. Again, in case you haven’t been following, pin up is not my strongest look. I was trying the coy come hither look here, I think I captured the half fish/half horse look instead. I’m sure there’s a use for that somewhere in the modeling world. If you know where, hit me up.

July 26th, 2012

Hey, hey, hey….How’re you all doing? It’s a long week starting out on Monday at 3:45 AM for the Coleman shoot. We were shooting tents. Yep, tents. Four of them to be exact. I handled the casting and we had a great bunch of models (see behind the scenes for more). Anyway, we had the first models arrive at 6 AM which meant the client, photographer and myself had to get there at 4:30 to steam the tents. Apparently the camera doesn’t like wrinkles on tents anymore than it likes wrinkles on models. Oh, if only it were as easy as a steamer….

We have a bunch more Coleman shoots coming up so hit me up if you wanna model. I know, I know, the only person reading this is my dear friend Carrie….Carrie, you’re still reading it, aren’t you? Carrie? Crap.

I had an audition as well, no idea how that went but wish me luck. Carrie? No, ok, I’ll just hope for the best on that one.

Sunday is a Visine commercial with my actor husband Steve. So far we’ve been a happy family with two children, been in court fighting over custody of some different children, been a married couple with no children and been in a movie where we work in the same office. He’s awesome. I’m looking forward to working with him again.

I also have a magazine shoot on Sunday evening. If all goes well I’ll post some pictures once I get them. Still no pin up pics from Worldwide but again, not my best shots so all things considered, I’m not too upset.

Here’s one pic I got back from Jeff. Not a favorite (because of me, not wonderful Jeff’s picture taking abilities) but here it is. Don’t look at me as much as the boots. How kick ass are they?

Shoots from last week

I had a shoot with Jeff Howe on Thursday and also with Mark Woolcott. I haven’t had a chance to shoot anything fun for a while so this was a fun day! Here’s a few sneak peeks of my shoot with Mark. I’ll put up some of Jeff’s shortly.
