Happy New Year, albeit a little late. 🙂

As my work picks up, my blogging goes down. Priorities, yes, but sometimes it’s nice to have a week to catch up, so that’s what I’m doing.

I made a commitment to myself last year that I would make more time to be involved in film projects. My production company, Run West Productions, has been involved in so many print and commercial jobs that at times I’ve had to turn down offers that would benefit me personally. I managed to find more balance with my acting and production and although this means working more weekends, it’s been totally worth it. I had the chance to collaborate with so many talented filmmakers in 2015 and I’m looking forward to continuing this in 2016.

Last year, I had the opportunity to work on a few really fun film productions with amazing crews. Keep an eye out for Happy F#ing Valentine’s Day, Synesthesia, Good Kids, Mirror Image and Hit or Miss.

I also had the fun of seeing myself in in a variety of capacities for Keystone Ski Resort and Breckenridge Ski Resort around Colorado. From night skiing (I’m on the front of every trail map at Keystone) to stand up paddle boarding (a life-size version of me on light rails and buses) to downhill mountain biking (billboards!), I think I covered just about every mode of transportation. Those were not only so fun to shoot but seeing them pop up all over town made it all the more exciting.

Other than that, 2015 was filled with commercials, auditions and production jobs. If you haven’t checked out Run West Productions at www.runwestproductions.com, please do! We handle every detail of a print or commercial shoot and have been expanding more into film as well. There’s nothing you could throw at us that we couldn’t handle and we always love a challenge.

That’s it for now but here’s to a fantastic 2016. All my love! XOXO

Below is a commercial I filmed a couple of weeks ago with Elgin Cahill for Boulder Valley Care Network. All of the doctors featured are actual doctors. They were such great sports!

February 22nd 2015

Hello Snow Day! I was starting to think the “BIG SNOW” wasn’t going to come but it showed up, better late than never. As luck would have it, I don’t have a lot of work this week so that means I’m going to be a skiing machine. Oh yeah, bring on the snow.

2015 has been a pretty good year so far. I’m filming a movie called Mirror Image at the end of this week. I’m playing the lead, Katherine, and the entire film is basically a monologue by me talking to my daughter. It’s a dark film with a sad ending and I’m excited about the opportunity. So much of my work is playing happy, caring characters but this will require more depth and tapping into other parts. I look forward to the challenge.

I just filmed a video for Boulder Valley Care Network as well. It’s the first of a 6-part series and it was really fun to film. I play the wife and I’m in bed with my husband talking about how I didn’t sleep well when suddenly a doctor pops out from the sheets and talks about healthy sleep habits. Through the course of the video other doctors show up in various parts of the room talking about how to achieve good sleep. Fun group of people to work with. Thanks to Myridian Productions and to Elgin Cahill for playing my husband.

I’ve been doing a lot of fun modeling shoots as well with various photographers. A few shots are posted below. I’ve enjoyed having a little bit of time to play around and be creative. I’ve also been doing a lot of voice over work, which is fantastic and I really enjoy.

That’s it for now. I hope some of you get some good skiing in this week. I think it’s going to be epic!

xoxo

Goodbye 2014

Goodbye, 2014.

You were kind to me but not without some ups and downs. We weathered them together and I feel stronger having gotten through them. You gave me lessons in patience, discipline, compassion, organization and confidence, although often I didn’t want to learn. We celebrated accomplishments together but other times you held me as I cried and I knew that the sadness would pass, just as time does. Thank you for all you taught me and I’m thankful for having the opportunity to meet 2015 with open arms and excited to see all she has in store for me.

Colorado in October

Happy day, beautiful October. I love this time of year when the leaves crunch under your feet and the air is clear and cold at night but warms up to body temperature around 2 PM. Perfect for mountain biking, hot yoga, early morning runs, coffee with friends, football games, comfy jeans and trail running.

I’ve been busy. Just straight up busy. It looks like it’s going to stay that way, at least for the time being, just the way I like it. I have a movie that I’m filming in two weeks, a trip to NYC, an event that I’m hosting in Orlando and a bunch of lifestyle modeling on the horizon for the next month. I’m a lucky girl in so many ways.

I expected to get a break in September and October since that’s what’s happened in the past but life (and work) had another plan for me this year. The production side of work is going strong and I’ve had a variety of fun jobs acting and modeling. I was able to take a few days and sneak away to the Austin County Lines Music Festival, which I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys great music and fun times.

I know it’s been a while since I checked in but I’ll be better in upcoming months. Looking forward to ski season!

July 1st, 2014

Happy Tuesday! It feels like a Monday. I climbed my fourth 14-et on Sunday and my body is still sort of tired. I might have to sneak in a nap….

There’s so much going on right now. June is typically pretty slow and this year was no exception. When I’m slow, I like to take on a variety of fun projects that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. It never fails, though, that right about the time I get busy with my own little projects, work starts again. This month I felt like I got a lot done and took a little time to rest and catch up as well. Work is starting up again and I’m ready to jump back into it. Here’s some highlights.

I made a commercial for Trelora Realty, which was a lot of fun.  I met some fun people that I hope to work with again soon.

I have a voice over job tomorrow, should be fun.

Signed on to play the lead in a sci fi horror flick. It will be my first foray into gore. I’m looking forward to it!

Run West Productions is off and, um, running. We’re currently working on a video with Roshambo Films as well as a variety of other shoots.  If you haven’t checked out the website yet at www.runwestproductions.com, what are you waiting for???! We are running a special for headshots and fitness portfolio pictures with Mark Woolcott Photography. Send me an email if you’d like to hold a spot. It’s a great opportunity to get new portfolio pictures done at a discounted rate.

Happy Monday! And it feels like a Monday. I climbed my fourth 14-er yesterday and my body is tired. I might have to sneak in a nap….

Run West Productions is launched!

Hey everyone,

My production management company has been rebranded and we’re now Run West Productions. Please check out the new website at www.runwestproductions.com! Our team can help with any shoot, no matter the size or location. Chances are if you need it, we’ve done it and can make your experience a happy one.

In front of the camera things have been moving right along as well. Here are a few highlights…

– A four day shoot for the Air Force Academy.

– A voice over for a dance software company.

– Modeling for a lighting workshop with Lucas Gilman.

– Video shoot for a start up marketing company.

– Host for a start up company’s website.

This is all in addition to the crazy production management schedule I’ve had so things have been awesome. I have a little bit of downtime now and I’m enjoying it and getting caught up on other aspects of my life, like this. I posted a picture below from one of my shoots for Club Ride with the ever awesome Mark Woolcott. I had the joy of working with him twice in one week on both Club Ride and Pioneer Drama.

Stay tuned, I’ll be posting more soon and I’ll also be blogging on the Run West Productions website (runwestproductions.com) so check there frequently!

xoxo

photo 2 photo 1 photo 3This week has been weird. Fun. But weird. Like really weird. We had the Coleman catalog shoot starting Monday at 5 AM and going all day, every day, all week. I ran a the Colorado Marathon on Sunday so I think I was a little tired starting out Monday but all was good. By Wednesday, sleep deprivation was starting to take its toll on everyone, including me. We were in the mountains and in the cold shooting all day but we broke about 4 PM and I was heading back down to Denver, while pretty much everyone else was going to stay and camp because we were starting again the next day at 6 AM. We had heard three inches of snow was in the forecast for that part of the mountains but we were hoping that it would be wrong and we’d be able to at least get our group shot the following day. We’d been shooting a different collection of Coleman gear everyday and using the same group of models (9 of them) in various settings and looks. For example, the first day was the Entertainer Collection so we shot at a house but the look was upscale country club. The third day was the Heritage Collection, which was a throw back to the 70s and so that’s the style we were going for on that day. It took a ton of wardrobe preparation (my responsibility) but it was so fun and each day was unique. The models had a ball with it. All was going well until on day 4, Thursday, the group awoke to 3 inches of snow and not a chance that we could shoot in that location. We really needed to get this shot so we flew into action and found a spot in Jefferson County where we could get a verbal permit and shoot that day. I got in touch with all of our models and the shoot was a go. The creative director and photographer got to the location early to scout where they wanted each shot. They left our big props truck and a crew member in the parking lot while they hiked around. And then I got the call. The truck was roped off by crime scene tape and the crew member being questioned because the police had been alerted there was a dead body close by (60 feet away from the truck). They immediately roped off the area and detained our crew member and searched our truck. Nothing to find, our crew guy hadn’t even gotten out of the truck but still it took enough time that we had to call the shoot. I have to say, that was NOT something I had a contingency plan for. So…we missed our Thursday shoot (the sportsman collection) and we got our Friday shoot today (Tech Forward) and we’re going to go back to try to get Thursday next Tuesday. Here’s where it gets complicated, because it’s perfectly clear up until now, right? We were supposed to shoot the Water Rec catalog on this next Monday and Tuesday but it’s going to snow on Monday so we cancelled Monday and Tuesday, we’re rescheduling the missing shoot from Thursday to this coming Tuesday, pushing the scheduled shoot from Tuesday to Wednesday and rescheduling the Monday shoot to Thursday. Yep, my weekend is going to be spent working and recasting. Damn. I knew it was too easy the first time around.

Here’s a picture though. I’m the girl in the white bikini in every collection because in the catalogs from the 70s, they ALWAYS had a girl in a white bikini. The creative director asked me about a week ago if I’d play that part and although I was flattered, I wish I had a little bit more notice.  I’m still in my winter coat (if you know what I mean)… 🙂

Next week I’m shooting at the Air Force Academy all week for a video they’re doing. I’m looking forward to it. I’ll most likely have to be on Coleman shoots in the morning and then drive to Colorado Springs to shoot so it’ll be another tiring week but I’m looking forward to it.

The following week I have a shoot I’m producing for Pioneer Drama and Club Ride and another video that I’m acting in. When it rains it pours and I definitely have spring shower fever. Must go to be soon. For some reason my friend talked me into running 10 miles with her tomorrow morning early. Did I mention I ran a marathon less than a week ago? My legs are still tired but I’m a sucker for my running therapy sessions.

xoxo,
